“Margaret L Johnson Ltd are commitment to reducing their carbon footprint by 15% by 2012”
Margaret L Johnson are an office supplies company based in Oxfordshire, currently supplying office stationery and furniture to 2,000 businesses locally and nationally.
Margaret L Johnson recognizes that climate change is a serious problem and fully understands the effects it has on our environment. As a local business we understand our responsibilities to minimizing our contribution to climate change and have in place a solution to reduce our impact on the environment. To accomplish this we aim to achieve the highest standard on the Carbon Smart program to reduce our carbon footprint by 5% over 3 years from our current measured footprint of 99 tones of Coe2.
To achieve this environmental reduction we will:
- Optimize our vehicle fleet routes by re-planning delivery routes and sale rep visits
- Run a switch campaign to encourage and engage staff to turn off unused electrical products
- Maximize the use of natural light to reduce the amount of over lighting
- Expand our recycling scheme to include a wider range of recyclable goods, including removing personal bins and centralizing recycle bins
- Raise awareness and communicate internally our carbon reduction campaign and the steps we need to take to reduce our carbon footprint
- Communicate with our customers and suppliers what are target is and encourage them to participate in our three year carbon reduction program
Our action plan and current progress will be communicated to our stakeholders through the use of our website, promotional literature and advertising our plan within our premises. This plan will be monitor, reviewed and updated by our internal Green Team.
